Review the help sessions for at least 3 different search engines. Print out and turn in the two sections you found most helpful for each.

SEARCH EXERCISE- DUE WED. 2/9/99
For each query:
1. Use 2 different search
engines. Do not use the same combination of search engines more than once.
2. Maintain a diary of your
activities.
3. Record the total number
of hits for each query. Be sure to indicate what the query was, and which
search engine you are talking about.
4. List all sites you visit
as a result of each search. Specify its approximate location from the top
of the list.
5. Indicate any refinements
made to your queries, as well as the results etc.
In general, you will be writing a diary of the process you go through as well as the results as you locate the information below.
I. Find a list of John Grisham's
books.
II. Find an image of your
favorite breed of dog.
III. Find low calorie and
low fat chocolate recipes.
IV. Find the name of the
governor of Minnesota. What branch of the service was he in?
V. Find the names of the
5 pitchers with the most wins on last seasons Cleveland Indians.

Find a listserve on a subject you are interested in and join. Submit a hard copy of your E-mail to subscribe as well as the reply you received.

etc. Be careful to correct your spelling and grammar.
